PITTSBURGH —

A Sewickley woman has won her lawsuit against a medical marijuana company from Canada for stealing her intellectual properties.

Denise Mueller is the founder of the Laurel Management Group.

Mueller sued the White Sheep Corporation in Canada after they asked to form a partnership with her company.

The lawsuit says together, they would apply for a permit to build a medical marijuana cultivator and processor using Mueller’s application credentials.

Her attorney said the permit to grow medical marijuana in Pennsylvania would carry a value of $25 million dollars.

Mueller says the White Sheep Corporation cut her lose from the partnership, but kept her intellectual properties.

“I was very disappointed and I felt that things should have been done differently, but unfortunately, business is business,” said Mueller.

The Laurel Management Group says in the lawsuit that White Sheep had devious motives from the start.

“Laurel Management gave White Sheep a lot of information that she developed over the years, and we believe they took it and used it for their own benefit,” said civil litigation attorney Trent Echard.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 requested a statement from the White Sheep Corporation without receiving a reply.

“We believe they never had any intention of working with Laurel Management. They basically went on their own and cut bait at the end,” said Echard.

The Laurel Management Group won the lawsuit and was awarded $2.1 million dollars.
