California cannabis featurePress release from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW:

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is offering a second pop-up shop for commercial cannabis cultivators.

The technical pop-up shop is designed to review current or upcoming cultivation related projects and provide guidance on remediation projects or other construction activity with one-on-one assistance. Details are below:

  • Who: CDFW’s Cannabis Program
  • When: Tuesday, November 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Where: Benbow Historic Inn(opens in new tab), 445 Lake Benbow Drive, Garberville
  • How: One-on-one meetings can be scheduled at [email protected] on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to include “Technical Pop-Up” in the subject line and the preferred time in the message. No walk-ins will be allowed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“CDFW wants to help new and legacy farmers that have questions about cannabis related construction projects,” said Jeremy Valverde, CDFW’s Cannabis Program Director. “We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with the community, including the Benbow Historic Inn, and meet with cultivators one-on-one to provide assistance.”

CDFW’s Cannabis Permitting and Conservation Engineering staff will be on hand to answer project and notification questions. Cultivators from neighboring counties are welcomed and can schedule meetings too.

Meetings are by appointment only and times will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Once someone is scheduled for a meeting, a confirmation email will be sent with instructions. Participants are encouraged to bring digital photos and other project paperwork.

Those with additional questions can email CDFW at [email protected], visit wildlife.ca.gov/cannabis to learn more about permitting, Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements or attend any of the upcoming online permitting workshops.
