This month, a federal judge dealt a possibly fatal blow to a key component of Missouri’s medical marijuana program — ruling that the state cannot limit licenses to businesses owned by state residents.
St. Louis on the Air’s Legal Roundtable will dig into the ramifications of that decision, one that panelists had predicted nearly a year ago. Joining the discussion will be Nicole Gorovsky of Gorovsky Law LLC, Dave Roland of the Missouri Freedom Center and Yinka Faleti, a former state prosecutor, former attorney at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and recent Democratic nominee for Missouri Secretary of State.
The panelists will also discuss a local professor’s possible legal claim against Missouri Gov. Mike Parson. Shaji Khan, a professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, was quoted in a St. Louis Post-Dispatch story that drew the governor’s ire by pointing out a possible vulnerability in a state website. Parson referred the matter for possible criminal prosecution. Now Khan is demanding an apology. His attorney also asked the state to place a litigation hold on records around the incident, suggesting he may sue.
