Kevin Durant is well-known for his abilities on the basketball court, but the Brooklyn Nets star is also a shrewd businessman.
Durant‘s latest venture is in the world of legalised cannabis sales, which is growing rapidly in the United States.
The NBA star is joining a host of celebrities, including David Beckham, Mike Tyson, Miley Cyrus and Jay-Z in branching out into the cannabis market and has wanted to do so for some time.
He’s joined up with company Weedmaps, which sells cannabis in the US and released a video talking about the use of the recreational drug in the world of sports and how the stigma surrounding it has lessened in recent times.

“The band aid has been ripped off in the sports world,” Durant said.
“It’s kind of an undercover thing that players use cannabis, and use it throughout when they’re actively playing.”
He hopes that people are starting to open their minds more to the use of cannabis in sport.
“I thought it was always interesting that the rest of the world was a little slower to be open about cannabis and its use,” he added.
