Coldwater’s second recreational marijuana shop opened Friday.
Lume joined the Chamber of Commerce and cut a ribbon to open the store in a former car repair center at 351 S. Willowbrook Road, west of Walmart.
This was the Troy-based company’s 19th store with two more ready to open. There are 23 current employees hired full-time with full benefits. The store is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Lume provides delivery within 30 miles in Michigan. It is free with a purchase of over $75.
The company produces its own marijuana flower buds.
“We do source from third parties, but it is mostly our own flowers,” manager Olivia said.
The company has its own edibles, including a series of mixed gummies which contain differing amounts of THC and CBD for varying effects.
The store sells only recreational marijuana, but does give those with medical marijuana cards an additional 20% off to make up for the excise tax medical users do not pay.
The manager said Lume is like “the Apple Store” where employees are trained to educate users.
