
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], July 18 (ANI): Sileru police seized 161 kilograms of cannabis on Saturday night and arrested five people.
Police obtained information from an anonymous person, according to Ranjit, Sileru’s deputy inspector. Informed, police arrived with CRCF personnel in the village of Dharakonda in GK Veedhi Mandal.
They found five people with five bags waiting at a local bus stop and found 161 kg of “cannabis” while checking the bags.
Defendants have been identified as Kapil in Delhi, Akash Varma, Sankar Jadav, Raj Kumar, and Abhishek in Uttar Pradesh.
Police said they had bought cannabis from a remote tribal settlement near the village of Dalaconda and were waiting for a bus to Bhadrachalam in Telangana, planning their next trip to Delhi.
Police also seized 25,000 rupees of cash and five cell phones from the accused. The case has been registered and an investigation is underway. (ANI)
