TOMS RIVER, NJ — A police officer and three men who jumped in to help a man injured in a motorcycle crash in June were honored for their lifesaving efforts.
The Toms River Township Council honored Officer Bridget Badalis and Christopher and Joseph Drago at a very busy meeting on Tuesday.
The council also approved an ordinance making zoning changes that are part of the township’s settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice of a federal lawsuit that charged Toms River with violations of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.
Township officials additionally approved a ban on retail cannabis sales, but introduced an ordinance to set a sunset date for the ban, giving time for a committee to continue reviewing the ban.
