Boston native Zachary Sweener admitted on Wednesday to failing to report over $625,000 in income and filing a false tax return by under-reporting his income in 2013. He also did not file any tax returns between 2014 through 2015, despite earning over $250,000.
As a result, Sweener owes over $150,000 in federal income taxes.
On Jan. 10, 2017, law enforcement officers searched Sweener’s home and recovered 1,000 cannabis vape oil pens, over $90,000 in cash and two gold bars.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute cannabis, one count of possession with intent to distribute cannabis, one count of filing a false tax return and two counts of failing to file tax returns at Springfield U.S. District Court.
U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni scheduled sentencing for Oct. 28, 2021.
