Police have arrested a 32-year-old Taiwanese executive casino host and a 29-year-old unemployed local woman for growing cannabis illegally in the La Marina residential building in the Areia Preta district, the Judiciary Police (PJ) revealed.
Police also seized a one-meter-high marijuana plant, as well as a small greenhouse, a warming lamp, nutrient solution, cannabis oil and smoking tools indoor.
The suspects admitted that they had purchased 10 cannabis seeds for MOP1,500 from an unknown man two months ago at a nightclub ZAPE and bought planting tools online.
Police authorities believe that they have plant marijuana for about two months for smoking and selling.
Authorities also indicated that residents who grow drugs, including marijuana, can be sentenced to more than 15 years in prison once convicted.
