May 30—The state Department of Health said today it has suspended an order that revoked the medical cannabis dispensary license for Pono Life Sciences.
The Health Department after the company allegedly failed to submit several annual independent financial audits, as required by state law. The notice revoked Pono Life Sciences’ license and required it to close its medical marijuana and retail operation on Maui.
During the suspension of the revocation, the licensee has up to 60 days to submit a 2017 audit, 90 days to submit a 2018 audit, and 120 days to submit the 2019 audit, department officials said. It can resume medical cannabis production and retail operations during the suspension of the revocation pending the submission of the financial audits.
Correction : The state Health Department today revoked its May 11 suspension of the medical cannabis dispensary license for Pono Life Sciences. An earlier version of this story and its headline said the department had suspended the license.
