$16.46M in federal pandemic aid, homeless plan also up for discussion
FAIRFIELD — The City Council will again take up the issue of cannabis retail and manufacturing permits when it meets Tuesday.
The council approved preliminary permits to two firms at its last meeting, but also conditionally moved forward three other companies from which two additional permits could be awarded.
The decision on a manufacturing permit was postponed at the last meeting due to the time limitations created with dozens of callers wanting to speak on the pot shop decision.
The council postponed a number of other items and will take up those issues as well.
Included in those is a proposal for the formation of a Multi-Jurisdictional Homeless Two-by-Two Subcommittee to respond to homelessness on a regional basis.
The council meets at 6 p.m. after a closed session at 5:30 p.m., during which the council will be updated on labor negotiations.
